Week 2 - Enrichment Friday
Lots of investigating this week in Forest Schools for Years 3,4 and 5!
We've been creating natures art pallets by using what can be found in our forest area. We've been looking at shades of colours and taking pictures of them against paint charts ready to compare summer shades to autumn shades as the seasons change.
Year 5 were our fire starters this week as they cut the wood and lit the fire independently for the rest of the groups to toast their snacks of bagels and toast!
Please make sure that children have wellies or other appropriate footwear in school for Enrichment Friday every week as we will be venturing outdoors whatever the weather!
As the Autumn/Winter months draw in, please make sure they are wearing appropriate clothing and have waterproof coats, scarves, hats, gloves etc at hand.
Week 1 - Enrichment Friday
This week Year 3, 4 & 5 have been learning how to safe in Forest Schools and then creating safety posters to display around our newly developed outdoor area.
They have also made their members passes and are well on their way to becoming nature detectives after taking part in their first Scavenger Hunt.
After taking part in our Forest Schools pilot last year with Miss Davies, Year 3 and now using tools safely and starting to work throughout the session independently cutting wood, constructing and lighting the fire ready to toast their marshmallows.
