Rocking, Cooking and Collaborating!

smiley Monday 31st - Friday 4th smiley

What an amazing week, this week! What a super busy week, this week! To kick start our week, we took part in Wales Rocks - the Welsh-only school tournament on TTRS! To mark the occasion, we all got dressed up and let the inner Rockstar out!

We had awards for the best dressed boy and best dressed girl, that the class voted for like a democratic vote!

Here are our winners!

We battled against each other, against the other year groups in our school and against so many other Primary and Secondary schools!

The Stats:

345 schools took place

We finished in 12th place! We finished top 4% of the country!

In those 345 schools, there were 1,327 classes taking part!

Year 6 finished in 22nd place! That's the top 2%!! cool

Year 5 finished in 30th place! That's the top 3%!! laugh

In those 345 schools, 1,327 classes, there were an incredible 15,813 student taking part!

Amazingly, we had 5 pupils finish in the top 50 meaning that all of them are in the top 1% of TTRS players in WALES!

But... you'll have to wait until next week to see who! wink

(Mainly so we can celebrate properly, and have certificates!)

This week, we also spent some quality time with our buddies - focusing on the theme of Hope and how we can share our joy and support. We made Hope Cards using Hwb in Year 6, and made some delicious treats with Miss Davies in Nursery!

What an amazing week for us all! We definitely deserve our break this weekend!

Join us next week for even more!

Working, Working & Winning!

yes Monday 7th - Friday 11th yes

What a busy week! As we entered the last week before Easter, we had a great week focusing on Holy Week - the events leading up to Easter Sunday. To kick start this, we had our Collective Worship for Parents on Monday! We had some special guests as Pastor Gareth and Mrs Taylor also joined us! We focused on the Garden of Gethsemane to allow us to focus on things that have made us feel scared and how we overcame that.

A massive thank you to all of the parents and guardians that joined us! It was really lovely to see so much support!

Mainly, a well done to our class as they were excellent role models!

During this term, we have been focusing on the CAFOD Big Lent Walk! This was a challenge set for us to focus on being Pilgrims of Hope! This meant that each class would take time during the week to walk a mile per day (if possible!) and at the end, all classes' totals would be added together to see how far we've walked collectively!

Our total for the Big Walk is 5,069km! That's 3,149 miles!

That means, as pilgrims, we could have walked:

7km to the Shrine of Our Lady at Abercynon

13km to the shrine of Our Lady at Penrhys

1,123km to Lourdes

1,807km to Santiago de Compostela

1,946km to Fatima

2,030km to Rome

4,841km to Jerusalem!

CAFOD works with local partners and communities all over the world - responding to emergencies, promoting long-term development and raising public awareness of the causes of poverty. They work with people of all faiths and none, for a safe, sustainable and peaceful world!

During the week, we celebrated those that finished well in our TTRS tournament who finally got their certificates!

As the week came to a close, we celebrated Friday with an own clothes and Easter Bonnet parade! The turnout was amazing, and our hats were... just incredible!

Check out the selection below and then see our Top 5 places!

Our Top 5 were:

Amazing hats, amazing designs and super imaginative way to create wonderful, colourful, super enjoyable experiences! A massive thank you to everyone that made so much effort! I think it was definitely deserving of a cookie treat!

So, as the holidays are now here, we will return on the week beginning 28th April for our LAST TERM in St. Michael's!

Stay Safe and Happy Easter!
