Welcome to the NEW School Year!
Tuesday 3rd September - Friday 13th September
What a busy start to the year! We have been focusing on our tests, group tasks and, more importantly, getting used to holding a pen again!
Firstly, to get ready for our SCHOOL ROLES, we have created our presentations using Canva. We have also worked really hard on our YouTube video task - creating a video all about Light: how it travels and how it helps us to see things!

Such a BUSY week!
Monday 16th - Friday 20th September
Where do we start? This week has been crammed full with experiences! To start off our new RE Topic all about Creation and the Covenant, we used our artistic skills to decorate tiles - each showing our own interpretation and depiction of one of the days of creation!
This week we really got our Topic off and running! We got our "hook" from creating our very own CAREERS FAIR! The brilliant people from our community helped us bring it together!
We set up our hall and Progression Step 3 classes went and spoke with our experts!
We were able to rack the brains of TV Editors, Microbiologists, Electrical Engineers, Psychologists, Design and Electrical Engineers, Warehouse Operatives, Project Managers and even Web Developers! We are so appreciative of all of their time and efforts to make our day even more interesting and insightful!
We also started our BSL (British Sign Language) Sessions starting with colours and animals!

Super Action-Packed Week
Monday 23rd - Friday 27th September
This week was a super busy one and we'll be sleeping well, that's for sure!
We had a volunteer join us for a couple of days, performed some excellent class worship sessions (check our folder to see what we've done), worked more on our topic - creating some epic double-page spread pieces of work, developed 3 different ways to complete multiplication, as well developing our ways to write creatively... as well some... interesting headwear...
Then, on Friday, we made our way to University of South Wales, where we took part in the USW STEM Primary Outreach Conference 2024, where we saw and experienced so much!
We had a keynote speaker in the form of Azize Naji who is the CEO of Goggleminds - a company that specialises in AI and VR technology to support in the training of doctors, nurses and pharmacy staff - how cool!
We split into groups, and had a talks on Volcanoes, but also STEM in University from Chris Webber, where we discussed what uni life is like, but also what it could do for us! We created our own universities, with an interesting amount of staff members, ranging from Einstein to Ronald McDonald!
After lunch, we went off again, this time to look at The Innovation Hub and how 3D printing works! We saw things being printed right in front of our faces, models of things that had been made already ranging from 1 hour to 3 days! We saw lots of their amazing other creations including robotics and their driving simulator!
In our other group, we looked at Artificial Intelligence (AI) and played a puzzle game called Conway's Game of Life! We needed to use problem-solving skills in our teams in order to solve it!
We had so much fun and got to experience so many things! Thank you!
