Getting Christmas Ready!
Monday 2nd - Friday 6th
It was time for us to show off our Topic work for this term, with our reverse Careers Fair, from our hook at the start of term! We embodied our future selves by dressing as our dream jobs, preparing resources including presentations, quizzes, photos and more to inform and educate our guests - our parents!
The hall was set up, and the parents joined us to learn more about what our future holds!
We had such a huge range of jobs, including...
Medical Staff and Animal-Focused Jobs
Services Roles
ICT Gaming / Game Development
Arts/Crafts Roles
Sports Stars
We had so many parents show up and I am really grateful for the time, effort and support that was shown. I am very appreciative and I know that the children also got a massive kick out of seeing you here too!
In our Maths, we've been focusing on our coordinates, and in this week's work, we were focusing on plotting points to create images and shapes. We did so well, and even made some... sus... drawings!
As our time left in school is rapidly running out, and we're fully booked, we started our Christmas craft this week focusing on clay as our material! We've creating some awesome tree ornaments that will dry, be painted and varnished for lifelong memories... or until it's dropped, of course!
In our STEM Club session, we focused on Asteroids hitting Earth, but what tools would actually help us to stop the problem in the first place? A telescope of course!
We had amazing fun creating our own extendable telescopes to be able to search the skies for dangers... or just making our heads get very small!
What a fantastic week, but next week is all about our performances! Time to break a leg!

The Show Must Go On!
Monday 9th - Friday 13th
The show had to go on, and it most certainly did! 3 shows, over 2 days!
For our first performance on Monday, we were performing in the Church Hall by St. Dyfrig's and we had an amazing turnout of over 130 parents and family members!
We completed our final 2 performances on Wednesday and now it is confirmed... that was the LAST primary school Christmas Concert for our class! Oh my goodness!
As the term comes to a close, we got our Christmas Craft ready by using acrylic paints once the clay had dried! We took extra care with making the details juuuuusttt right... and some still look like burnt cookies!
Once they are varnished, they will be sent home!
To celebrate our week, we had an afternoon of Christmas Festive Dancing with RCT! We were having a blast, showing off our moves and we were greeted with a surprise visit from Pastor Gareth! He even joined in with some of them!
In our STEM Club, we finished off our sessions by testing acid rain! It was amazing and we were making sure to follow proper safety rules. We tested it on tablets, petals and even metals like magnesium and zinc!
It was epic! We are super grateful for the effort and work from USW Ambassadors and are gutted it's over!

Going out in style!
Monday 16th - Thursday 19th
On Monday, we went to Cardinal Newman for a Christmas concert with other year 6 that will be joining us next September! We all performed a song from our Christmas shows! We were excellent during this trip, setting a fantastic example, and even having lots of compliments from staff and governors for how we acted!
Check out our performance!
Following that, we went on our end of term trip to BUZZ! It was epic and we had so much fun, but we were certainly aching and sore the next day, even if we slept like stones the night before! Once again, we showed a fantastic attitude, manners and all-round great representation of our school! Da iawn, pawb!
Check out our video of us going flipping crazy!
Lastly, we created some Christmas cards of appreciation to give to staff members in our school for all of their hard work, got to see Santa a little bit early, and "warmed up" our vocal chords for singing!
Check it out below!
Last thing to say is, well done everyone for your hard work this year so far! It's been a year of learning about skills, tasks, subjects, but also about ourselves!
Have a lovely restful break, coming back fresh and ready in January!
Nadolig Llawen!
