7 More To Go!
Monday 2nd - Friday 6th
What a super, action-packed week this has been! Kicking the week off by visiting the USW Campus again, this time for a drone workshop delivered by students! It was great fun and we even got to try out their flight simulator... including some of us crashing it on purpose!
We worked super hard to complete our tests that started this week, as well as completing our Branch 5 of RE, which we concluded with the Glorious Mysteries!
We also officially started our topic all about Day of the Dead, with a fun quiz to test our pre-topic knowledge, and created our own sugar skulls! We can't wait to get this topic started!
We also relaunched our STEM Club - this time focusing on how to escape from a deserted island! In this week's challenge, we had to create a raft and test the buoyancy it created from displacing the water. We had some... interesting designs, but we did a fantastic job!
We did more research on our countries for Culture Day that's coming up soon! We are all representing a country in the Women's Rugby World Cup and we get to celebrate the diversity that exists in our world! It's going to be a great day!
Lastly, on Skills Friday, we continued our work to do with the heart, as we measured our heart rates at "base level" or as close to rest as possible, before we put our bodies to the test!
It's been a super busy week, and it doesn't slow down on our countdown to the end of the year!
Great efforts, everyone!

6 More to go!
Monday 9th - Friday 13th
What a week! Where do we begin? Starting with the last Sports Day for our Year 6 in Leckwith! What a day and everyone did excellently!
So, this week saw us completed the remainder of our tests on Hwb and GL and we have worked our blinkin' socks off! An excellent effort from us all!
With the remainder of the time, we focused on our Enterprise work that will take place in a couple of weeks! We created brand new mascots for our Rugby World Cup Teams focusing on main themes, styles and ensuring that our mascots represented the nation correctly!
We made more resources ready for our Culture Day on Monday next week and also completed our Science investigation, testing our heart rates. As the weather was rubbish, we had to perform indoors, and of course, we had the worst exercise to do for 1 minute solid... HIGH KNEES!
After that, we rested for 2 minutes before checking again to see how much we've recovered!
To round off the week, we created our Father's Day cards focusing on one trait that seemingly all fathers have in common... The gas!
We made our cards with a personalised video to go along with it!
Finally, in our second session of STEM Club 2.0, we created our own healing cream focusing on plants and flowers that aren't harmful and have a lot of supportive properties!
Our classroom stank of garlic afterwards... but it's better than what it normally smells like!
A busy week, leads into another busy week as our countdown continues!
