Getting the Celebrations Ready!
Monday 28th - Friday 2nd
What a great week back in school, although it feels like it's over so quickly! It was straight back to business after the Easter holidays to get so much ready!
As part of our new topic of Festivals and Celebrations, we have been gearing up for VE Day next Thursday as it marks the 80th anniversary!
To help us celebrate this, Miss Davies organised a visit from As Creatives to join us and have special workshops for each class with our focusing on Hopes of the People after the War and what life would now look like given how the times have changed!
In our workshop, we needed to symbolise all of the things that had happened, and how life would now be able to look like after peace was declared!
We created tableaus to showcase the hopes and dreams of the nation!
We had so much fun as you can see!
This week also marked the beginning of Skills Friday once again where the classes move around for special tasks with the teachers in Years 3-6. This includes:
Welsh with Mr Davies
Italian with Mrs Liffen
Problem Solving with Miss Wide
and Science with Mr Payne
To begin our Science topics, we created our front covers and discussed what we would focus on in the coming weeks from Forces and Materials, to Living Things and the Human Body, we've got a lot to get done!
We had a mini competition to test our skills too!
We can't wait for next week, when the party really starts!

Putting on a Show!
Monday 5th - Friday 9th
Well, yet another Monday-less week has resulted in us needing to work harder, faster, better and stronger in order to meet our deadlines! The main thing we focused on was creating our own gas masks using card, plastic bottle, tape and scissors only!
We have practised ready for our Sports Day coming up in June, getting Missions complete but also getting our resources ready for VE Day Celebrations and Presentations!
To have our Street Party, Progression Step 3 filled the back yard with fun games, tasks, colouring, a dance floor and event a snack table! We had a selection of squash to quench our thirst, some teacakes and ginger nut biscuits - making sure we don't overeat... especially after our dinners!
We had a dance competition and had such a fun afternoon that seemed to disappear in a blur! But we all looked the part! Check us out!
Then, to end the week, on Skills Friday, we also had our Coffee Morning to celebrate this mini-topic in which we gave a speech to the crowd, and showed off our gas masks to get away when the siren blares!
A really great effort from Enfys this week! Da iawn, pawb!

Working Hard and Achieving Together!
Monday 12th - Friday 16th
What a week!
We have had so much on our To Do List, but we got it done! We focused on our Science topic of the Human Body and understood more about our blood; what it does, what it's made of and why it's important! It led to our session about our heart in Skills Friday!
We made amazing posters, double-page spreads and epic Canva presentations! Gwych!
In our RE topic, we focused more on Pentecost - the events, the scripture and how it's shown in art and people's lives. We focused on the Trinity of Initiation - Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation and how we can all be part of God's family.
We understood the importance of our family - from our sponsor, to the friends and family around us, we see how our chosen people can help and guide us. We also understood the importance of transformation in the new chapter of people's lives when they are confirmed!
Finally, as part of our Enterprise, we have been focusing on Diversity - why it matters and how we can support it. To celebrate this, we looked at Tom Yendell, a British artist that uses his mouth and feet to paint amazing artwork! We had a lot of fun during this task and had a higher appreciation for his amazing pieces! Check out his work here!

Celebrations, Certificates and Collaboration!
Monday 19th - Friday 23rd
What a super busy week it has been! We started off our week by celebrating the Procession, creating flowers for Mary! We had a service in our prayer garden where we sang Ave Maria and Year 6 read Hail Mary in Italian!
We walked to St. Dyfrig's to deliver the flowers to the grotto and we had a special guest, Pastor Gareth who did a prayer for us.
In class, we focused lots in our RE all about Confirmation, Chrism and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit! We created fantastic pieces of work designing our own variations, and focusing a lot on the signs and symbols - what they mean and why they are used!
We were also gifted invitations to a special birthday party for Paddington, by our amazing buddies in Nursery! We had a great party, enjoyed some cake thanks to Miss Davies and had lots of fun!
To end the week, we were visited by the RNLI Lifeguards - Swansea who came in to teach us all about safety and prevention when going to the beaches! We got dressed up as wet and dry lifeguards, and... it's safe to say, we needed better sizings!
What a busy week! Thankfully, it's half term, where we are on the countdown to end of the school year!
