We have had a wonderful start to our Year 4 journey. Everyone is settling well into our new classroom and beginning to get used to the different routines and ways of working. Together, we have taken part in lots of activities to think about what we would like to achieve this year and the personal targets we have set ourselves. We have also spent time discussing our class expectations and yard behaviours, making sure we understand how to work and play respectfully with others. It has been a busy but exciting beginning, and we are ready for a fantastic year ahead!
We are super excited to begin exploring our new topic, Celebrating Diversity! As a class, we have shared lots of brilliant ideas through our pupil voice activities, and it has been wonderful to see everyone so enthusiastic. The children came up with fun suggestions for projects, activities, and discussions that will help us learn more about the many ways people and places are unique and special. We can’t wait to get started and celebrate diversity together! We have started our PS3 project with Year 5 and 6, working together with excitement, sharing ideas, and looking forward to learning new skills!
We also have our first Pupil’s of the Week in this new school year! Well done for showing such fabulous behaviour — keep it up!
This week we have started our assessment week, and all the children are working incredibly hard. Everyone is focused, giving their very best effort, and showing determination. It has been fantastic to see such positive attitudes towards learning, and we are very proud of how the class is approaching each test!
In RE, we have been exploring the meaning of hope and how it can guide and transform lives. We learned about the story of Abraham, when God asked him to leave his home and go to Canaan. We thought about how Abraham’s decisions were shaped by his strong hope and trust in God, even when things seemed uncertain. To help us understand this, we took part in a conscious alley activity, where we imagined Abraham’s thoughts, including both his positive hopes and the doubts he may have faced. This helped us see how powerful hope can be.
